Home 101 Urban General Store.  It’s a great new little shop on the sleepy south end of Shattuck Avenue in Downtown Berkeley.  The owners, Hadley Salz and Allison Etchison, have a keen eye for vintage chic and reuseable items. Their eclectic mix of wares includes vintage china and crystal, furniture such as chairs, desks, and cabinets as well as candles, jewelry, tea towels, and more!

Here is one of their tables I wish I could find a home for.

This would make a wonderful small coffee table or perfect sized end table in a Living Room or Bedroom.  The top is a silver mirrored mercury glass which is a work of art on its own, while the base is a simple retro modern wood frame ($65.).

This pair of green vintage leather weighted bookends with a metal Greek key trim are a unique find for a discerning library or tablescape with some fabulous books ($36.).

I was fortunate enough to meet Hadley when I was there yesterday.  She was born and raised in Berkeley, went off to college at UCLA, and is now back to her favorite home.

Home 101 Urban General Store is located at 2530 Shattuck Avenue located a few blocks south of the downtown Berkeley Bart Station.  There should be parking out front or in their parking lot just behind the store. They are open Monday through Saturday from 11-6 and Sunday from 11-5.

A small shop as unique as this turns its merchandise quickly, so if you don’t see what you want the first time, do visit them again as there is always something different!

Have a great weekend…..and try to stay dry!
