I found a great new resource for Midcentury Modern furnishings in a fabulous up and coming spot!

The spot is called Temescal Alley.

The shop is called Lot 49 Urban Home Store.

Perry, the incredibly nice guy who owns and curates this little shop has only the best stuff at very reasonable prices.

He is a graphic designer by day (Monday through Friday) and a shop keeper on Thursday through Saturday.

Not only is his furniture and lighting fabulous, but he also has new pillows that he makes using his own graphics!

Now about The Spot...

Temescal Alley is right off of 49th Street, a half block east of Telegraph.

There are actually 2 small alleys right next to each other that used to be the home of horse stables...now turned into fabulous shops!

Here are some of my favorite shops to stop in:

Esqueleto, an incredible jewelry store owned by New York transplant Lauren Wolf.

She carries her own designs as well as other up and coming jewelry designer's wares...amazing stuff!...The New York Times has even written a piece on her work...if you look closely you can see it being worn by the Hollywood set.

Crimson (Horticulture), a great collection of horticultural curiosities and small gifts. Allison, the owner, is a blast!

She carries everything from air plants to vases to fun garden gift related items. She does floral arranging, terrarium workshops, parties, events, and more! Definitely stop in and say hello.

Doughnut Dolly, a place not to be missed. Hannah has taken making  doughnuts into the stratosphere with these heavenly little balls!

Not just regular doughnuts, these are small rounds without a hole that she fills with a selection of her special custom fillings before your eyes...trust me you have never seen anything like it.

Temescal Alley Barber Shop is a sure stopover if you need a short, sharp cut or a shave.

The guys in there are sharp!..If I had a short cut, I would go right in.

There's lots more... If you go, plan on having lunch across the street at Burma Superstar, DELICIOUS and very reasonable. Just get there before the lunch rush so you don't have to wait in line!

Have fun...Lori
